Bella Coola Heli Sports founders Pete The Swede Mattson and Beat Steiner have one of the largest heliskiing areas in the world, and when the weather cooperates, one of the best in the world. Since the snow in the Coast Mountains is not quite as dry as in the interior of British Columbia, the stability of the snowpack is usually better. So you can ski steeper slopes than in other regions and in some corners of the area even with a view of the Pacific fjords.
Bella Coola is located in the middle of the wilderness and yet is very well connected. From Vancouver it takes only 70 minutes to fly to the four Bella Coola lodges, where you transfer directly from the plane to the helicopter. Only the safety training is pushed in between and already it goes off to the first deep snow departure. On the last day of skiing there is still flying in the morning. At noon, the helicopter lands directly at the airport, where you change and get back on the plane for the trip home.

Getting on a helicopter with jet lag after a long flight from Europe and connecting flight to Bella Coola is not ideal. A day or two to acclimatize and warm up in Whistler is better.
