Big, bigger, Big Red Cats

Eight mountains, 78 square kilometers, four snowcats – Big Red Cat is the big player among catskiing companies. Every day, up to four groups of different skill levels take off. So no one is over- or under-challenged.

Button_ski_kanadaFour snowcats on the mountain at the same time sounds like mass handling. But it’s not. The area of Big Red Cat near the Red Mountain Resort at Rossland is huge. Each snowcat operates in its own area. So the guides always find the optimal slopes for everyone.

With Big Red Cat everyone finds his personal level

Nearly all runs go through forests, over glades and a few open slopes. There are no big, wide glacier runs like in heliskiing at Red. The terrain, however, is enormously varied and ideal for anyone to ski from off-piste beginner to pro.

Unlike smaller catskiing companies, Big Red Cat can put together the groups optimally every day. So the strong and fast boarders and skiers ride in one group, beginners and connoisseurs in another. This way, everyone gets their money’s worth. With at least two to three guides per group, safety on the mountain is always ensured.

Exclusive catskiing in small groups – no problem

Unlike most other providers, Big Red Cat even offers private cats: Those who want to be looked after in the best possible way or who want to have a cat all to themselves and their friends will find the right small group package at Big Red Cat. There is one guide for every three guests.

The owners, Paula and Kieren, have continued to expand and refine their area in recent years. They have now mapped 420 runs. And new ones are added every season. The network of trails used by the snowcats has now grown to over 155 kilometers.

Insider-Tipp

You want it faster, steeper, more extreme? Then book the „Über-Expert“ group at Big Red Cat. But don’t say we didn’t warn you! The Über Experts go down everywhere without a break and jump off every cliff. Freely according to the motto: If the guide can do it, so can you!
