Bearpaw Heli-Skiing: Heliskiing Jewel with top Treeskiing

One of Canada’s youngest heliskiing providers is a jewel! Bearpaw is quickly accessible, the area gigantic, the tree skiing incomparable and the lodge like a picture book. Private and semi-private heliskiing can hardly be better.

Button_ski_kanada_5There are many good heliskiing operators in Canada, some very good and some great – Bearpaw was in this premium class from the start. With incredible attention to detail, operators Amber and Kevin have built an exceptionally beautiful lodge. The cabins are made of natural stone and old timbers that Kevin gathered from old cabins and barns throughout the region. Rustic-traditional on the outside, the cabins are modern yet very comfortable on the inside. Ideal for discerning guests, you’ll be delighted with the lodge on the Fraser River and the charming hosts.

Bearpaw Heli-Skiing: Hunting ground at your doorstep

The private lodge and residence for the four private guests as well as the separate second lodge for the eight guests of the semi-private program were built by Amber and Kevin, and the ideal heli-skiing area right on their doorstep was given to them by nature. There are as many as four mountain ranges to choose from: McGregors, Dezaiko, Missinchinka and the Rocky Mountains.

The McGregors start just behind the lodge and offer the best forest runs you could dream of: Gladed terrain at its finest with widely spaced trees, gorgeous glades and challenging steeps. It’s hard to imagine better tree skiing.

Beyond the McGregors, the mountain ranges get higher and higher, all the way to the alpine glaciers of the Rockies with peaks of up to 2,950 meters. There are altitude differences of up to 1,400 meters per run. The 5,000 square kilometer area is a paradise for snowboarders and skiers.

And it’s not as remote as you might think when you look out into the deserted expanse from the lodge at Sinclair Mills. Bearpaw Heli-Skiing is only about an hour’s flight from Vancouver and an hour’s drive from the airport of the relatively large university town of Prince George. This makes Bearpaw surprisingly easy and quick to reach for Europeans.

Insider-Tipp

Heliskiing at Bearpaw is an unforgettable experience. To fully enjoy it, you should plan a stopover in Whistler. There you can acclimatize, get rid of the jet lag and get ready for the heliski adventure.
